What is the Google Search Console Platform Properties Feature?
New Search Console feature tracks social and video content performance.
7 Tem 2026
On July 7, 2026, Google published a blog post announcing an important addition to Search Console. Content creators and publishers can now see how their social media and video posts perform on Google Search, all from one consolidated view, even if they do not have their own website.
Today, many content creators reach their audience through channels far beyond their own site. Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube have become key discovery channels, especially for people looking for firsthand perspectives. With this update, Google is formally recognizing that shift and giving creators without a website a way to measure their visibility on Search.
What Are Google Search Console Platform Properties?
Platform properties are a new property type inside Search Console. Following an earlier experiment launched in December 2025, this feature is now rolling out more broadly. It lets creators who do not own a website connect an Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube account and track how that account's content performs on Google Search and Discover.
What Reports Do Search Console Platform Properties Include?
The Performance report shows total clicks, impressions, and other core metrics. You can filter and sort this data to see which posts and search queries are driving the most traffic. If you prefer another analysis tool, the data can also be exported.

The Insights report gives a high level overview of recent traffic trends, top performing posts, and how people are discovering the account on Google.
Achievements let creators track their growth and celebrate milestones, such as reaching a new threshold for total clicks from Google Search in the last 28 days.
How Do You Add a Platform Property in Search Console?
Open Search Console.
Go to the verification page, or open the property selector dropdown anywhere in Search Console and click Add property.
Choose one of the four available platforms: Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube.
Follow the onscreen verification steps to securely authorize the connection.

The feature will roll out gradually to all users over the coming weeks.
Why Did Google Add Platform Properties to Search Console?
This move reflects a bigger shift. Google no longer measures visibility only through a website domain. Search itself is increasingly shaped by AI powered summaries, Discover feeds, and in platform discovery, and people often encounter a brand or creator for the first time through a video or social post rather than a website.
That points to something important for AI visibility. Google is signaling that discoverability matters regardless of where content actually lives, and it wants site owners and creators alike to understand that their assets outside the website also generate signal inside the search ecosystem. Platform properties make that broader visibility picture measurable, so brands and creators can answer not just how much their site is clicked, but where their content is actually being discovered.
In short, Google is acknowledging that visibility in a post search era is no longer confined to a website, and by bringing this data directly into Search Console, it is pushing AI visibility measurement a step further.

Frequently Asked Questions About Search Console Platform Properties
Which platforms does the Search Console platform properties feature support?
Four platforms are supported today: Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. Google may expand this list going forward.

Yes. That is one of the main points of platform properties. Even without your own website, you can verify a social media or video account and access its performance data inside Search Console.
Can I export platform property data from Search Console?
Yes. Just like data from regular website properties, performance data from platform properties can be exported and analyzed in other tools.
Is it safe to connect my account to Search Console?
The connection goes through Google's official verification flow. Authorization is completed through onscreen confirmation steps, which securely confirm account ownership before any data is shared.
When will platform properties be available to everyone?
Google announced that the feature will become available gradually over the coming weeks, meaning access will roll out in stages rather than to all users at once.
